Sandra Ackley joined the SEI team in 2020 after a long career on the East Coast. She has her bachelor\u2019s degree from Oklahoma State University but is an avid Kansas State University fan. Her, her husband, and their beagle Delphi moved to Colorado in 2019 after their youngest graduated from Kansas State University. She volunteers with her local church in various areas. They love to visit their adult children and of course their grandbaby (all out of state) if they are not out hiking, biking, skiing, or just exploring Colorado.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Priti (Preethi) hails from a 20+ year career in the fashion industry. She took a much-needed Covid break to move her family to CO and assess her next chapter. Throughout her tenure in the work world, the words of her father constantly rang in her ear; whatever path you take in life, make sure you\u2019re doing something good for others. That time finally came when SEI welcomed her into their family, and she is so grateful that she gets to support the various teams and constituents. She is a true \u201csoccer mom\u201d to 2 tweenagers and spends her time shuttling them around to practices and matches.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Marie comes from the environmental field with a passion for sustainability. Her research in environmental ascription and injustice motivated her to dedicate her life to non-profit work. When she is not posting the do's and don'ts of recycling around the office, you can find her either tending her community garden or 27 houseplants.<\/p>\n

Allison Brengle-Todorow<\/h4>

Allison is full of empathy and enthusiasm and has always been drawn to connecting with people.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the course of twelve years, many of which as a single mom, Allison did crisis work in non-profits and chipped away at a bachelor\u2019s degree. In December of 2021, she graduated with honors from The University of Michigan \u2013 Dearborn; her nine-year-old son was by her side. She studied women & gender, social justice, urban design, and art\/architectural history.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her professional aspirations are grounded in social work; a lens which considers how the systems in place work for some and against others. She finds a ton of joy in learning and wonders what master\u2019s degree to pursue. Allison loves choir, her English Springer Spaniel named Pocket, and any chance she gets to be near water.\u202f Allison lives near Detroit with her incredibly supportive partner and their three kids.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Vanessa loves colorful Colorado! In 2007 she left her home state of Florida and traveled with dear friends for a fresh start to \u201cThe Mile High City\u201d. Vanessa, inspired by her natural curiosity of human experience and its interconnectedness to the world we live in, attended Metropolitan State University to study Cultural Anthropology and non-profit management.<\/p>\n

Vanessa has since invested in her personal growth outside of the classroom by immersing herself in a healing journey, connecting to a dynamic spiritual practice that anchors and guides her in life. Vanessa enjoys spending time outdoors connecting to nature, casually enjoying the beauty of Colorado while spending time with friends, family, and animal friends of all kinds! She has a love of learning through experience which draws her to explore the arts, food, and travel in all its forms (well almost all)! It is purposeful alignment and the desire to affect change through the upliftment of humanity that attracted Vanessa to Somatic Experiencing International. Sony grew up in a small town in Southern Maine. In 2004, she graduated from Saint Michael\u2019s College in Vermont with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Elementary Education and Art. After graduating she moved to Colorado to pursue her dream of living \u201cout west\u201d. Her plan was to live the life of a ski bum for a year and then move back to Maine to start her teaching career.<\/p>\n

Life had other plans and she was offered a year-round job at Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland, CO running the group sales program. It was at Eldora that she met her husband Adam and through an Eldora connection that she ended up at Somatic Experiencing International. Sony was hired in June of 2013 as a Program Manager and that position has evolved in her years with the organization into the position she now holds, Managing Director of Programs.<\/p>\n

Like many of us, she has seen the organization go through some ups and downs but is grateful for the strides the organization has made in the last couple of years and is grateful to be part of the SE community.<\/p>\n

Deion was born to Carmen and Ivan Cossio in Providence, Rhode Island on Thanksgiving Day in 1993. He graduated from Southeastern University in 2015 with a degree in Business Management. He ran Track and Cross Country all throughout his time at SEU, and it taught him so much about teamwork. He went on to work for Chick-fil-A\u2019s non profit, the WinShape Foundation and served on the marketing team. When Hurricane Michael struck the Gulf Coast, Deion moved to Panama City, FL and ended up staying and helping in the efforts until 2020. He loves cooking and getting his people together. He has always been fascinated with how technology can bring groups together.<\/p>\n

Erin has called Colorado home for most of her life, where she finds joy and challenge in hiking the mountains whenever she can. Initially pursuing Elementary Education with the goal of becoming an art teacher, her path shifted unexpectedly when she accepted a Project Accountant role at a corporate travel company\u2014an opportunity that redirected her career entirely.<\/p>\n

Driven by a deep passion for volunteering and nonprofit work, Erin returned to school to earn her Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, with the clear aim of specializing in nonprofit finance. After gaining experience in the for-profit sector, she transitioned to a nonprofit organization and has remained dedicated to that mission ever since.<\/p>\n

While working full-time and raising two teenagers as a single mother, she completed her Master\u2019s in Professional Accountancy. Her time at a CPA firm provided a unique opportunity to serve more than 70 nonprofit clients, each with distinct missions. This experience gave her an in-depth understanding of nonprofit financial management, organizational structures, and strategic planning.<\/p>\n

Today, Erin lives with her husband, children, horses, dogs, and cats on their ranch outside Colorado Springs. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, crafting, and cherishing moments with friends and family.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Kev joined SEI at the end of April 2024 on the Continuing Education team, ready to assist practitioners in their SE journeys.<\/p>\n

In her spare time from being a single mom to her amazing 14 year old son Asher, Monica indulges in practicing Reiki, studying different trauma healing modalities, reading both fiction and non-fiction, being an avid music fan, cooking, writing for the local newspaper, and spending time with family and friends.<\/p>\n

Monica plans to register for the SE training in the near future and develop her own healing practice integrating SE and Reiki; she also wants to resume a practice of spending time in nature and getting regular recreational exercise, and to explore ways to publish her creative writing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Hannah\u202f<\/span>grew up in Seattle, WA., surrounded by nature, the sweet smell of pine trees,\u00a0and the salty ocean breeze.<\/span> \u00a0<\/span>After graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a double major in Anthropology and Sociology, Hannah spent a year traveling the world before moving to LA to establish a career in the documentary film industry.<\/span> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hannah is endlessly curious about all things big and small, but has particular interest in people, culture, mental and nervous system health, yogic philosophy and spirituality, and the lifelong journey of self-discovery. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2021, Hannah took off her Producer hat for good in order to pursue a more passion-driven life. She now lives in Mexico City where she is diligently trying to learn Spanish (and learning a lot about patience, humility and grace along the way), while also building a new career as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and yoga teacher.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a current student and employee at SEI, Hannah has the unique opportunity to spread the gift of healing from the inside out. <\/span>As she has begun to find increased purpose and strength through her own healing journey, she is committed to dedicating herself to helping others find relief and agency within their lives, too. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kianna graduated from Yale University In 2020 with a degree in the history of Science, Medicine and Public Health. Her undergraduate research focused primarily on American healthcare systems and healthcare for marginalized communities. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since graduating, Kianna has worked in a clinical research facility focused on COVID-19<\/span> <\/span>and other infectious diseases, as well as continuing her research on health disparities <\/span><\/p>\n

Kianna is excited to bring her research background and project management skills to the Public Health Initiatives Department at SE International. <\/span><\/p>\n

Michelle Romaine received her bachelor\u2019s degree in English from The University of Texas. She joins the SEI team following not one but three fascinating careers. Passionate about movies and always ready for an adventure, Michelle followed her dream to LA to make her mark in the film business. Pursuing another passion, she later studied at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, CA.<\/p>\n

Falling in love with Napa Valley and its rich food and wine culture, she ultimately transitioned into a long career in the luxury wine and hospitality industry. Along the way, she founded her own baking company specializing in savory cookies to pair with wine and other libations. Wanting to be closer to the family on the East Coast, Michelle began her latest adventure when she relocated to Savannah, GA where she currently resides with Gilman, her devoted kitty, aka Fur Baby. And, working with the members of the healing community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Staci is originally from a small Texas town, moving to Colorado in 2003. She has a diverse background with an entrepreneurship spirit, where she has owned several businesses. She has also held administrative support roles, and several career paths in healthcare. She has maintained 19 years as a licensed CNA for Colorado, specializing in eating disorders and behavior health.<\/p>\n

Education in healthcare includes a diploma in Medical Billing, a certificate in Medical Coding, certificates in multiple courses involving professional addiction counseling, and completion of the first year of the Nursing Core.<\/p>\n

Interests outside of work include being a nature and animal lover - taking long walks when the weather permits. She also loves to grow flowers and create new recipes, especially in baking. The most important outside interest she has is spending time with her wonderful daughter.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Daniela was born in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia and grew up in Northern Colorado since her early childhood years. As a first-generation immigrant her core values are centered around intercultural competencies and community\/civic engagement.<\/p>\n

She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in the Economic Development field who continues to invest time and resources in sustainable ventures benefiting indigenous female entrepreneurs in Caazap\u00e1, Paraguay.<\/p>\n

Daniela also serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Northern Colorado Intertribal Powwow Association reflecting her commitment to Native American populations through cultural celebration and philanthropic projects.<\/p>\n

In her free time she enjoys promoting nutritional wellness, camping, meditation, boxing, supporting the CSU Ram community, and finding the nearest dance floor.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

REBECCA STAHL<\/h4>

Rebecca M. Stahl was previously the Executive Director of the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts at the University of Baltimore School of Law before starting as Interim Executive Director at SE International.<\/p>\n

Rebecca previously represented children in child welfare cases in Los Angeles, County California and in Tucson, Arizona.<\/p>\n

Rebecca was a Fulbright Scholar in New Zealand and earned a Master of Law degree from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand and studied the role of lawyers for children in family court cases.<\/p>\n

Rebecca has presented at a variety of international conferences focused on children\u2019s rights and family law on topics ranging from the role of lawyers for children to trauma.<\/p>\n

Rebecca coauthored, Representing Children in Dependency and Family Law: Beyond the Law, a book focused on the psychological issues lawyers for children need to understand to represent their child clients and has published articles on the role of children\u2019s representation, including a recent one on trauma, published in October 2020 in Family Court Review.<\/p>\n

Rebecca is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and came to Somatic Experiencing from a background in yoga and seeing trauma manifestations every day in court.<\/p>\n

Rebecca melds SE and law and teaches trainings around the world to help lawyers navigate trauma manifestations in themselves and in their clients.<\/p>\n

Rebecca is a non-cishet Jewsh person who believes in the power of community as the focal point for growth and healing.<\/p>\n

Kaejauny (Kay-jjaw-knee) has lived in Colorado for most of her life and enjoys opportunities to be outside in nature whether it be for a short hike, or a full week of camping. She has a large family and loves getting together with them as often as possible.<\/p>\n

Kaejauny went to The Art Institute of Colorado for Baking, and although she ultimately decided against being a pastry chef, she is still an avid at home baker and wishes Americans could participate in The Great British Bake Off.<\/p>\n

Her other hobbies include reading, crafting, and of course, cuddling with her two pups as often as possible! She truly enjoys helping people, and is glad to be a part of this SEI community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

As a Colorado native, Calvin enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and tubing. He loves the adrenaline rush from off-roading and white water rafting (his two deep loves). His pride and joy is his youth football organization which he created along with 3 friends, so that they could give back to the kids that are less fortunate, to those who really don't have the money for their child to play sports. Their organization makes it affordable so that no kid gets left behind.<\/p>\n

Calvin notes, \"We know that there is a small chance that any of our kids will make the NFL, that\u2019s why we take pride on \u201cStudent Athlete\u201d use the sport as a tool to get where you want that is our motto. Which means you may not make it to the NFL, but you can be a student athlete to where you can get a free education with a full ride scholarship to pursue your career's choice.\"<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

As a collective trauma integration facilitator, certified mindfulness meditation teacher, and executive coach, David supports communities and organizations through critical transitions\u2014helping them heal from collective trauma, navigate complexity, and enable healthy communication in polarized environments.<\/span><\/p>\n

With 20+ years of experience in leadership development, systems change, and trauma-informed consulting, David guides leadership teams, social enterprises, and NGOs through culture transformation and strategy execution. He brings a unique approach, integrating somatic awareness, collective intelligence, and wisdom traditions to foster resilient, adaptive organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

David has designed and facilitated large-scale leadership retreats and community healing initiatives in over 30 US and European cities, focusing on intergenerational leadership, cultural resilience, and conflict transformation. He is a student of collective trauma healing with Thomas H\u00fcbl and holds multiple certifications in mindfulness, trauma facilitation, and conscious leadership. He enjoys traveling, camping with his kids, martial arts, and hanging out in tea shops.<\/span><\/p>\n
